County Fair Fund monies are distributed through grants ac cording to the size of the fair. The new law will increase the maximum amount of funding to fair organizations to $14,000. All prospective buyers will be treated to a beef barbecue which will be served from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., just prior to the sale. The sale will serve as a climax for about 70 young people who have been raising livestock project animals in the 4-H and FFA programs. It is expected that 20 steers, 60 hogs and 35 lambs will be offered for sale. All will be of market weight with the steers weighing about 1,000 pounds liveweight. the Goschenhoppen Festival Provides Look Into The Past GREEN LANE - The 20th Annual Goschenhoppen Folk Festival is scheduled for Aug. 8 and 9 at Goschenhoppen Park in East Greenville. The festival features a reenactment of 18th and 19th century life, with some 150 costumed craftsmen fabricating everything from hats to handtools. Some of the displays include quilting, basket and rope making, candle making, weaving, spinning andblacksmithlng. The festival’s theme is “Children,” and this year’s event will provide something of interest s V '( S / ''C;\ ‘>o Agricultural and Rural Affairs Committees, three representatives of fair organizations, and a member of the public. hogs approximately 200 pounds and the lambs approximately 100 pounds. The sale will be conducted as an auction, with the animals being sold to the highest bidder. Anyone who does not feel comfortable bidding in an auction sale can make arrangements to have a 4-H leader do the bidding and act as the buyer.
