market indicators supported the
broad upturn, I.E. (A 6.00 advance
in the carcass trade and |5.50 in the
boxed beef values thru Wed
nesday; limit higher moves in
CME trading; a bullish USDA pig
crop report; a current supply of
market ready cattle). Slaughter
cows steady - 1.00 higher. Bulls
steady.
Estimated 5 day receipts 6900;

Attention TOBACCO FARMERS
Remember frequent deep cultivation of your
tobacco will promote a better root system and
therefore faster growth. This is actually more
valuable to growth of your tobacco crop than a direct
application of Nitrogen. If you did not treat your
ground for aphids you should prepare to spray for
them around the beginning of July. If you did treat
your ground you should still prepare to spray around
middle of July. If you wait until you have an aphid
problem you are too late.
The two procedures above will promote good pest
free growth and will help lead to good quality
green-free tobacco. As there is a larger volume of
609 tobacco planted this year we expect QUALITY of
your product to be very important!
