Pennsylvania Swiss Assoc . Holds Picnic
BERNVILLE - The annual
Pennsylvania Brown Swiss picnic
was held recently at Victory Acres,
home to Dean and Brenda
Daubert, Bemville.
During the business meeting,
breeders were urged to advertise
on the Pennsylvania page of the
Brown Swiss Bulletin. It was noted
by secretary-treasurer, Audrey
Queitzsch, that an unfilled page
costs the Association money, while
advertising could increase profits
for the breeder, notifing per
spective customers of the
availability of breeding stock.
This year the Association will be
sponsoring a Owner-Breeder
trophy for the Junior Swiss
exhibitor at the All-American
Show.
Brown Swiss enthusiasts from across the state met at Victory Acres, home of Dean
and Brenda Daubert, Bernville, to renew friendships and discuss the latest in the dairy
and Swiss businesses.

National Director William
“Ronnie” Daubert noted the
recent change in classification
rules allow a 2-year old to be
classified excellent. Previously the
highest attainable classification
score was VG-89. To be scored
excellent the cow was required to
have had more than one calf.
Daubert exhibited a genuine
Swiss bell and other Swiss items
which he and his wife, Rhonda,
picked up on their trip to Europe
earlier this year. These items will
be donated to the Fun Auction at
the National Convention on behalf
of the Pennsylvania Association.
A picnic for the western region of
Pennsylvania will be held
tomorrow, June 29, at the Kennedy
farm in Butler.
