to maintain current slaughter
needs. Dressed beef prices little
changed for the week through
Wednesday and lent no support to
the advance in live prices.
Slaughter Steers closed .50-1.00
higher, Slaughter Heifers 1.00-1.50
higher. Slaughter cows steady to
1.00 higher. Slaughter bulls 1.00
higher.
Estimated 5 day receipts this
week 5,600 compared to 5 day
actual receipts last week of 5437
and 10,008 last year. Slaughter
steers accounted for 51 pet. of the
supply this week, Slaughter heifers
40 pet., Slaughter cows 6 pet. and
Feeder cattle 1 percent.
