Market Comment: Prices un
changed. Trade sentiment im
proved slightly but generally just
steady. Cartoned egg activity was
mostly fair with some dealers
noting interest developing for
retail promotion cm large and
medium. Graded supplies of large
and extra large were fully suf
ficient to handle current needs.
Mediums continued to tighten and
were irregularly available. Spent
hen movement was active within
the area and overall production
was decreasing, causing some
improvement in the undertone.
Prices to retailers: sales to
volume buyers, consumer grades
white eggs in cartons delivered

Market Comment: Demand for
ready to cook whole birds was
improved and good overall. Of
ferings were in good balance to
well-cleared. Demand for parts
was also improved and asking
prices on most items were about
steady to firm. LTL asking prices
were one to two cents higher at 56-
63 cents. Live supplies were light to
moderate. Weights were mostly
light to desirable with hot, humid
weather conditions noted as having
its effect on sizes. A spot indication
of increased DOA’s was also
reported. Slaughter schedules
were moderately heavy. The
undertone remained firm.

Market Comment: The market
tone remained weak, and prices
for next week’s activity were
trending one to two cents lower.
Off-farm movement was heavy
and total offerings exceeded plant
needs. Processor schedules were
full and some storing of finished
product was necessary as canner
sales were slow and highly com
petitive.
