YORK Earlier this year York
County Holstein Association
named Sue Beshore as their first
woman president.
Mrs. Beshore, New Cumberland,
heads the slate of officers that
includes Tom Stein, York, as vice
president; Shirley Trimmer, East
Berlin, secretary-treasurer; and
Bob Charles, Dover, assistant.
State Director is Leroy Bupp,
Seven Valleys.
The officers and directors are
finalizing arrangements for a
lineup of summer activities.
Headlining the Holstein events
are the annual county Black and
White show and the summer
picnic.
Up to 150 entries are expected for
the annual county summer show,
set for July 24 at the York
Fairgrounds. Judge is New Jersey
Holstein breeder Genie Francisco.
Elmer, Treva and Dennis Myers
are hosts for the August 7 summer
picnic. Events planned for the
gathering at the Myers Glenville
farm include cattle judging and a
chicken barbecue lunch.
During a recent directors
meeting, York Holstein leaders

Pennsylvania Brown Swiss
MIFFLINTOWN The officers
for the Pennsylvania Brown Swiss
Association for 1966/1967 are:
Leonard Queitzsch, Mifflintown,
June 29 through July 2, in
Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The team
is currently in a fund-raising drive
to help offset costs of attending the
finals contest.
York Holstein Association
leaders will also be lending a hand
with two additional upcoming
events. A Clipping Clinic, featuring
Berks Countian Jim Shaw and
sponsored by the York Central
Dairy Club, is set for June 21 at the
Rodman Thompson farm, near
East Berlin. Holstein families are
encouraged to attend this clinic.
York’s Holstein Junior Club will
host the Eastern Pennsylvania
Junior Holstein Judging School,
July 14 to 15. Headquarters will be

On June 21 the Association will
be holding their Annual State
Picnic at Dean and Brenda
Daubert’s farm in Bemville. All
Brown Swiss enthusiasts and
members are invited to attend.
The Dauberts will be providing
barbecue chicken and milk; those
attending are requested to bring a
covered dish.
Festivities start at 11 a.m. and a
noon meal will be served. Anyone
planning to attend is asked to make
reservations in advance by con
tacting the Dauberts at RD 2, Box
269, Bemville, Pa. 19506 or by

LIBERTY At their recent
State Convention, the Jersey Cattle
Club announced the following
officers: David Norman, Liberty,

To arrive at Victory Acres, take
exit 6, Route 419 south, off 1-78.
Proceed to the second blinking
light, turn left (east) and go three
miles to New Shaefferstown. Stay
to the right at the “Y” just past
Tulpehocken High School. Go into
New Schaefferstown. Turn right
(south) at the first blacktop road,
Summer Hill Road. Go a half mile
to Victory Acres, watch for signs.
The following Saturday, on June
29, at the James Kennedy farm in
Butler, Canton 1/2 will be hosting
their annual picnic.
Plans are being discussed for the
annual State Brown Swiss Sale to
be held in conjunction with the All-
American Show. Scheduled for
Monday, September 22, this sale
offers the top bloodlines in the
breed to buyers throughout the
country.

sale chairmen for the Club.
Coming up on the Jersey
calendar are the National Meeting
in Nashville, Tennessee on June 26
to 28. They will also be sponsoring
their annual sale on July 4, the
Cumberland Valley Sale in
Shippensburg.
The annual State Sale will be
held on September 24 at the Farm
Show Building in Harrisburg.
