The Sire Summary is a useful tool for commercial cattle raisers who want to breed for economically desirable traits. According to Bette Sexson, executive secretary, “The moderate sized Tarentaise cow consistently raises a calf that is 60 percent of her weight. Crossbreeding with Tarentaise can improve the maternal traits in a herd. Early maturing, large pelvic area, and excellent milk production are some of the qualities Tarefttaise have to offer the cattle industry.” For a copy of the 1986 Sire Summary or further information about the breed, contact the American Tarentaise Association at P.O.
