tone was generally weak with
prices trending slightly lower for
both this and next week’s fully
adequate offerings. Canner pack
sales were no better than fair and
prices generally ranged 32-34 cents
with necks on.

Market Comment: Prices
continued to trend lower on all
sizes. Demand was light to fair and
generally unaggressive at all
levels of distribution. Graded
supplies ranged adequate or
available, particularly mediums
and large. Gradable supplies at
local and distant production points
were currently in excess of packer
needs, and breakers offered little
option, as most limited receipts in
anticipation of lower asking prices
for breaking stocks.

were two to three cents lower at sft.
65 cents. Live supplies remained at
least fully adequate. Weights were
in full range, but mostly desirable
to heavier than desired. Slaughter
schedules were moderately heavy.
The undertone continued weak.

closed this session steady with last
week. Demand was fairly good for
the two days of trading this holiday
shortened week. Carcass beef
prices held steady through mid
week, but boxed beef prices were
firm.
Slaughter cows closing mostly
1.00 higher, slaughter bulls firm to
1.00 higher.
Estimated 4 day receipts this
week 5500 compared to 5 day ac
tuals last week of 7818 and 8914 last
year. Slaughter steers accounted
for 47 pet of the weeks receipts.
