Marion Long reviewed the book “The Reaper’s Song.” Following the book review, members discussed their best or most nearly perfect year. Lancaster Society 24 Lancaster Society 24 met recently at the home of Mrs. Glen Shultz. Dynatech Computer Center of Park City presented a safety program. Society president Loretta Hurst presided at the business meeting and announced that the county project is the American Red Cross. Lancaster Society 26 Members of Lancaster Society 26 met in the home of Judy Esben shade for their April meeting. The Ways and Means Committee is researching a bus trip to the Three Little Bakers in December. President Nancy Starr’s daughter Vicky read two poems. The next meeting will be June 19, when all members meet at the General Hospital for a day of sewing. Kathy Scott and Lucy Miller will be hostesses. The Spring Rally will be May 28 at the York Fairgrounds. The society is planning to tour the state capitol and governor’s mansion June 10. The next meeting will be May 27 at the home of Mrs. Lynn Smocker, 3419 Harvest Drive, Gordenville. Gerry Buckwalter was co-hostess. Irma Esbenshade led devotions. Lucille Buckwalter conducted the business meeting. Members will visit Longwood Gardens May 22. They will leave from the Lancaster Shopping Center at 10 a.m. Lancaster Society 28 Lancaster Society 28 met April 24 at the home of Dorothy Welk. Velma Hess was co-hostess. Thelma Hess conducted the business meeting and Evelyn Hess was in charge of devotions. Members voted to give $75 to the American Red Cross as the 1986 county project.
