SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The 21st
New York State Spring Holstein
Show was held recently at the New
York State Fairgrounds. Howard
Home Valiant Eva, owned by
Dreamstreet Holsteins, Walton,
captured the Grand Champion
honors of this show.
This 5-year-old Valiant daughter
edged out the Reserve Grand
Champion, Valiant Agro Acres
Clara also owned by Dreamstreet
and sired by Valiant, for this title.
A pair of Triple Threat
daughters topped the junior show.
Yorkholm TT Kim Ann, owned by
Kim Harris, Tully, placed in the
Grand Champion position followed
by Maplelane-Manor Triple Ali,
owned by John Young, Apulia
Station, in the Reserve Grand
Champion position.
A pair of senior yearlings topped
the junior show. Junior Champion
honors went to David Shults,
Canajoharie. The Reserve Junior
Champion title went to Dream
street Holsteins.
In the Premier Exhibitor honors
went to Dreamstreet Holsteins. It
was no contest as Dreamstreet
captured the blue ribbon in every
class with the exception of the 2-
year-old class.
The Premier Breeder banner
went to Chaseholm Farm, Pine
Plains.
Richard Lewis of Orient, Ohio
served as judge and Steve Putnam
of Heuvulton filled in as judge for
the bull and calf classes until
Lewis’ arrival. There were 250
entries in the open show and 112
entries in the junior show.

Homecoming Weekend
Planned for Genesee
Country Museum
MUMFORD, N.Y. - A wide
variety of hands-on activities will
be offered to visitors to the
Genesee Country Museum over the
Memorial Day Weekend, May 24,
25 and 26.
Adults and children alike will be
offered an opportunity to leam to
milk a goat, plant a 19th century
vegetable garden, attend a 19th
century Protestant church service
or attend a garden tea party.
The Homecoming Weekend
revolves around home, farm and
garden and will demonstrate many
of the chores 19th century
housewives and farmers per
formed each spring.
All the activities of Homecoming
Weekend are included in the
regular admission of $7 for adults
and |3 for children six through 14.
Children under six and museum
members are admitted free.
The museum is located 20 miles
southwest of Rochester, N.Y. It is
near New York State Thruway
exits 47 (Leroy) and 46
(Rochester) and is a 20-minute
drive west of Avon Exit 10 of In
terstate 390. Museum hours for
Homecoming Weekend are 10 a.m.
to 5 p.m. each day.
