Delmarva Poultry
Thursday, Apr. 10,1986
Market Comment: Demand for
ready to cook whole birds was very
good and current production
was well-cleared. Cutlets and
breasts were tight for a fairly good
call. Wings were short as demand
was brisk and unfilled. Legs and
leg quarters were clearing
satisfactorily and were no more
than adequate overall. Less than
trucklot asking prices were one
cent higher at 50-57 cents. Live
supplies were moderate. Weights
were irregular with several plants
having trouble in filling orders on
2% lb. sizes. Slaughter was
moderately heavy. Undertone was
firm.
Estimated slaughter of broiler
fryers in Delmarva:
Estimated 4/10 1,962,000; Actual
4/31,643,000.
Actual 4/81,943,000.
Average Weights 4/8 4.43, 4/1
4.43.
