bulls at the Pennsylvania
Department of Agriculture’s Meat
Animal Evaluation Center com
pleted their 140-day performance
test on February 25. The sale
committee met and determined
which bulls should sell in the 13th
annual performance tested bull
sale scheduled for noon, March 28,
at the Ag Arena, which is adjacent
to the Meat Animal Evaluation
Center, 651 Fox Hollow Road, State
College.
Included in the sale offering will
be nine Simmentals, with five of
them finishing the 140-day test with
average daily gains in excess of 4.0
pounds a day. A Simmental posted
a 1441-pound adjusted 365 day
weight which was the top yearling
weight over all breeds.
There will be 18 Angus bulls
selling, with seven of these Angus
bulls having a frame score of 7.
Also, one of the Angus bulls posted
the top average daily gain over all
breeds with a 4.40-pound gain per
day while on test. The Average
Daily Gain on the 18 Angus bulls
was 3.72 pounds per day.

made the grade and will be
