Lancaster Society 27 met on Feb.
25 at the home of Mary Kathryn
Wenger. Gladys Shear and
Kathryn Fry were co-hostesses.
Millie Nissley and her daughter
demonstrated how to make reed
egg baskets. The baskets were
dipped in dye to make them look
old fashioned. Each member
completed a basket.
Members voted to give money to
Community Action, Friendship
Ministries, Make-A-Wish, Bob
Gostetter and Home, Health Care
Aide.
The next meeting will be held
March 18 at 7 p.m. in the Mt. Joy
United Methodist Chuch. The
Society will entertain Society 24
and county officers.
Lancaster Society 29 met at the
home of Mrs. John M. Heisey for a
craft night on Feb. 25.
Speaker Mrs. Ray Kunkle taught
Society members the art of lace
net darning. Everyone took home a
finished product they can frame or
make into a small pillow.
Members will meet at the home
of Mrs. Stanley Newcomer on
March 17 at 7:30 p.m. to make
many varieties of Easter candy.
On April 21 at 7 p.m., the society
will entertain Society 26 at St.
Mark’s United Methodist Church
for a dinner-go-round. It will be an
evening of good food, fellowship
and new friendships. Anyone
wishing to join in the festivities can
contact Mrs. Donald Drager,
president. The society is always
looking for new friends and
members.
Berks Society 6
Berks Society 6 met recently in
the home of Mrs. Rodger Wagner.
Mrs. Christine Williams,
vocational ag instructor at Kutz
town High School, talked to the
group about farm safety.
The group gave a donation to
Scott Youse, Rl, Oley, to attend the
Pennsylvania Holstein Convention
in Pittsburgh.
Mrs. William Mest will serve on
the nominating committee for the
county convention.
Group 6 will celebrate its 20th
anniversary on March 25 at 7:30
p.m. with a dinner at the Sze Chuan
Restaurant, Green Hills. Members
of the committee for arrangements
are Mrs. Harold Snyder, Mrs.
David Bauer, Mrs. Merrill
Hetrick, and Mrs. William Hart

Pottstown Memorial Medical
Center.
The business meeting was held
at the home of Peggy Lewis,
Pottstown.

Chester Society 3 met recently at
the home of Elinor Edison.
For roll call, members brought
valentines for their secret pals.
For the program, members made
something with cherries for a
silent auction.
During the business meeting,
members heard a Farm Show
report. They also discussed their
upcoming meeting with Society 32
at the Methodist Church at Market
Street in Oxford on April 8.

Green Valley Society 26 met in
February at the home of Ruth
Kann. Members will entertain
Group 27 this summer.

the business meeting and Ruth
