Market Comment: Demand and
movement of ready to cook whole
birds was irregular but no better
than fair in total. Offerings were
adequate to ample and premiums
were adjusted lower in some in
stances in an effort to clear
product. Demand for parts was
dull in total. However, some spot
interest was developing at current
levels. All items were at least
adequate With leg quarters more
readily available.
Live supplies were at least
adequate overall. Weights were
desirable to lighter than desired.
Slaughter schedules were
moderate. The undertone was
barely steady.
Today’s L.T.L. asking prices
were unchanged on U.S. Grade A
at .50-.58 cents, but some lots had
moved as low as .49 cents and some
truckload at ,47-.49 cents.

vanced on all sizes. Cartoned egg
demand ranged fair to good
throughout the area. Floor stocks
were adequate to ample. Some
supplies were being held for
ongoing retail features while
others were increasing stocks for
the upcoming holiday. Class one
nest runs were in best demand and
ranged adequate to short of full
inquiry. Other classes were
generally adequate, particularly
classes yielding mediums and
lighter weight sizes, but all eggs
were held with confidence.
