recognized with the Outstanding Young Member Award
during the National Vocational Agricultural Teacher's
Association annual Convention in December.
The Young Member Award program is designed to
recognize a member's participation in the professional ac
tivities of the NVATA. Here, Cynthia accepts her award from
John F. Coy, manager, corporate support programs, Deere

Little Lions FFA
The Little Lions FFA Chapter of
State College sent three square
dance teams, a demonstration
team, award winners and animal
exhibitors to this year’s Farm
Show.
The square dance teams were
the Centre Circles, who received a
blue ribbon; the Centre Swingers,
who received a red ribbon; and the
Centre Sash-Sayers, who also
received a red ribbon.
Little Lions member Joyce
Harpster exhibited dairy cattle,
while fellow member Dave
Seamans showed beef cattle. Both
were honored with the Keystone
Farmer Degree.
Joyce’s parents, Harold E. and
Shirley Harpster, received the
Honorary Keystone Parent Degree
and Ron Pifer and Joe Crawshaw
received the Honorary Keystone
Degree for the help they have
given to the FFA program.
Skytop Farms of Port Matilda
also received a special FFA
citation award for providing
students with a farm to work on.
