Convention to he

HAGERSTOWN,MD - The
Maryland Holstein Association,
Frederick, MD, recently an
nounced the schedule for the
Maryland State Holstein Con
vention and Sale to be held on Feb.
21-22.
The convention will feature Dr.
Francis H. Fox, DVM, from
Cornell University, Ithaca, NY,
speaking on Johne’s Disease. Dr.
Fox was elected to the American
Veterinarian Medical Assoc.,
Judicial Council by the House of
Delegates at the annual AVMA
Convention.
The Holstein Assoc, advises
everyone intending to attend the
convention to make their reser
vations early. All tickets will be
sold on a prepaid reservation basis
only, with the deadline being Feb.

DM Conference slated in New York
ITHACA, NY. - Operators of
pick-your-own farms and roadside
markets and other people who sell
farm products directly to con
sumers will meet in Rochester,
NY, Feb. 4-6 to brush up on
production techniques and
marketing skills.
To be held at the new Rochester
Holiday Inn Holidome and Con
ference Center, the 1986 New York
State Direct Marketing Conference
and Trade Show is expected to
attract participants from New
York and adjoining states, and
Canada.
The conference, sponsored
jointly by Cornell Cooperative
Extension and the New York State
College of Agriculture and Life
Sciences at Cornell University, is
open to growers, direct marketers,
agribusiness representatives, and
Cooperative Extension personnel.
It will feature sessions on small
fruits, specialty marketing, and

A fun auction will be held on
Friday evening, following the

H Club Foundation, in support of
the 4-H dairy judging team’s trip to
Europe.

the sale scheduled for Feb. 22
which promises to have quality

Pennsylvania State University,
Rutgers University, Agway Inc.
and the New York State Depart
ment of Agriculture and Markets
will be featured speakers.
