Lancaster Society 2 held its
January meeting at the home of
Mrs. Earl Petticoffer, with Mrs.
Blodwen Brant as co-hostess. '
Ten members attended the
Farm Women Convention in
Harrisburg during the week of
Farm Show. Members helped
guests at Conestoga Viqw play
bingo and provided prizes.
A contribution honoring the
memory of Mamie Dohner was
presented to Ruhl’s United
Methodist Church to be used

Hannah Brackbill, Edna Groff and
Miriam Groff.
The 26 members who attended
the meeting sewed 202 cancer
dressings for the American Cancer
Society.
Serena Groff read the con
stitution and by-laws. Miriam
Leaman gave a book review of
“Lincoln’s Mothers, Nancy and
Sally,” written by Dorothy Clark
Wilson.
On Jan. 2, Esther Landis, Ada
Rohrer, Martha Ranck and Elma
Barge sewed at the Lancaster
General Hospital.
The Feb. 12 meeting will be at
noon at the home of Mrs. Leon
Thomas, 2336 Hollinger Road,
Lancaster.
Berks Society 5
Berks Society 5 met on Jan. 14 at
the home of Mrs. Celeste Manbeck,
Womelsdorf.
Speaker for the evening was
Trooper John Bressler from the
Pennsylvania State Police at
Hamburg. He spoke and showed an
informative film on crime and
safety in the home.
Members finalized their plans
for their “Sweetheart Night’’ to be
held at the Bahney House in
Myerstown on Feb. 15 at 7 p.m.

Beatrice Brothers attended the
State Convention in Harrisburg.
