Market Comment: Demand for
ready to cook whole birds
remained irregular but light in
total. Offerings ranged generally
adequate to fully adequate.
Movement of parts has tapered on
legs, leg quarters, and wings, and
discounting has become a factor,
particularly in clearing dark meat.
Breasts continue firm while cutlets
are more available.
Live supplies were generally
adequate to occasionally fully
adequate. Weights continued in a
full range. Slaughter schedules
were moderately heavy and a
couple plants were reporting
holiday down time on Monday. The
undertone was steady for the most
part.
Today’s L.T.L. asking prices
were unchanged on U.S. Grade A
at .52-.61 cents.

Market Comment: Prices were
unchanged to one cent higher on
mediums; unchanged on the
balance. Trade sentiment ranged
steady to fully steady. Movement
was moderate to good overall.
Floor stocks adequate to closely
cleared. Additional offerings of
graded stocks were usually
adequate. Nest runs were
generally adequate to tight and
confidently held where available.
Some producers noted flocks in
molt due to expectation of
declining demand for current
period not in need of this
production to meet current needs.
