Kenneth has served his chapter
as treasurer and received the Star
Chapter Farmer award. He also
holds the Greenhand, Chapter
Farmer and Red Rose degrees.
He received a dairy products
proficiency award and got one
silver and two bronze awards in
the state dairy products contest.
Kenneth plans to continue
working in an agricultural field.
NevinL. Ratal
Nevin L. Ruhl, 18, is the son of
Lester and Ruth Ruhl,
Elizabethtown. A member of the
Elizabethtown FFA Chapter for
five years, Nevin has raised
Bobwhite quail and field com for
his projects
Nevin has served on the SOE and
Fair Committees and was chapter
vice president in his senior year.
He holds the Greenhand, Chapter
and Red Rose degrees.
He has received proficiency
awards in fish and wildlife and
small grains.
In the future, Nevin would like to
buy a small farm.
Michaels. Smoker
Michael S. Smoker, 18, is the son
of Glenn and Audrey Smoker, New
Holland. A student at Garden Spot
High School, Michael has been a
member of the Grassland FFA
Chapter for four years.
He has taken projects in wildlife
and swine finishing and has had
work experience at Yoders
Country Market and Spring Trout
Inc. His other activities have in
cluded Recreation, Leadership and
Scholarship, BOAC, Earning and
Savings, Trap Shoot, Raft Trip,
Banquet Program, Entertainment
and Fruit Committees.
Michael has served as sentinel

Keystone recipients are active FFA’ers
and treasurer. He holds the
Greenhand, Chapter Farmer and
Red Rose degrees.
He placed second in the county
poultry contest, eleventh in the
state wildlife contest and sixth in
the state forestry contest. He was
also first in the county and area
parliamentary procedure contests
and fourth in the regional contest.
He has received proficiency
awards for poultry production, soil
and water conservation and
forestry management.
Michael enjoys many outdoor
sports and is vice president of the
New Holland 4-H Community Club.
He plans to work as a meat cutter
after graduation.
Cassandra Stowe
Cassandra Stowe is the 17-year
old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Allen
Stowe, Bainbridge. A member of
the Elizabethtown FFA Chapter
for four years, Cassandra selected
beef animals as her project.
She also served on the Public
Relations, Banquet, Finance and
Window Display Committees.
Cassandra served her chapter as
chaplain, treasurer and vice
president.
She holds the Greenhand and
Chapter Farmer degrees.
Cassandra plans to become a
federal meat inspector and own a
farm. She enjoys riding horses,
flying and working.
Tina Strauss
Tina Strauss, 18, is the daughter
of Russell and Mildred Strauss,
Lititz. A student at Warwick High
School, she has been a member of
the Warwick FFA Chapter for four
years.
Tina has taken projects in
market lambs and feeder pigs. She
was chairman of the Supervised

Program.
She has been chapter secretary
and won a DeKalb award. Tina
holds the Greenhand and Chapter
Farmer degrees. In 1985 she was
named Star Chapter Farmer.
A member of the Warwick girl’s
softball team, Tina also enjoys
volleyball and basketball.
She would like earn her
American Farmer degree and buy
a farm.
Darryl Eugene Weaver, 18, is the
son of Irvin and Dorothy Weaver,
East Earl. A member of the
Grassland FFA Chapter for four
years, Darryl received Eastern
Region Star Agricultural Business
Award.
He has taken the swine finishing
project and worked on a produce
farm and at a machine works
business for his Supervised Oc
cupational Experience.
In addition, Darryl has been a
member of the Scholarship,
Supervised Occupational Ex
perience and Leadership Com
mittees.
Darryl has served as president
chaplain, first student advisor and
first president. He was named Star
Greenhand, Star Chapter
Agricultural Business, Star Red
Rose Agricultural Business and
was a runner-up for Red Rose
Agricultural Business-County.
He placed first in the county and
area in parliamentary procedure
and fourth in the regional contest.
Darryl plans to major in
agricultural mechanics at Alfred
State College.

James B. Weidman, 17, is the son
of Greg and Judy Weidman,
Bowmansville. A student at
Garden Spot High School, James
has been a member of the
Grassland FFA Chapter for four
years.
James has had a number of SOE
projects with area businesses. In
addition, he has earned a host of
awards. They include: a third
place at the county Poultry Con
test, and a second place in the state
contest; a fifth place in the county
Land Judging Contest and a bronze
in the state contest; a first in the
county and area Parliamentary
Procedure Contest; and a third in
regional P.P. Proficiency in
Poultry Judging.
He has served his chapter as
second chaplain, and is chapter
and Lancaster County reporter
this year. James has also chaired a
number of committees.
He plans to major in agricultural
science at Penn State.

Donald Yeagley, 18, is the son of
