President Grace Bixler read about Christinas customs around the world and led the group in devotional time. Special music was Lancaster Society 10 Members of Lancaster Society 10 held their Christmas party at the Joe Myers Restaurant on Dec. 8. The society will be represented at the State Convention in January by Nancy Starr, Suie Dietrick and Kathryn Hebbe. Kathy Scott, whose term as president is expiring, gave special thanks to all her officers and committee chairmen for doing a good job this past year. A $lOO gift will be given to Christ’s Home. Mrs. Naomi Glessner from the Town and Country Garden Club presented the program “Christ mas in Williamsburg.” She showed how easy it is to decorate using live greens. A special Christmas gift for the birds was given to Amy Martin as a door prize. Outgoing president Anna Esbenshade conducted the business meeting and installed Suie Wissler as the new president for 1986-1988. Other new officers are: Libbie Greider, vice Lancaster Society 24 met at the home of Mrs. Chris Lantz, Leola, for a covered dish meal on Dec. 10.. Hostess Dotty read the Christ mas story in Luke. President Loretta Hurst reminded the group of the up coming State Convertor. Jar.. 13 Lancaster Society 25 held its annual family Christmas party at Wangers Clinic on Dec. 14. Each member brought two dishes for the meal. After a brief business meeting, the group sang Christmas carols and told stories of Christmas celebrations. Berks Society 1 held its Christmas party at the Washington Inn on Dec. 11. Dr. Jesse Rothenberger provided the entertainment for members and their husbands. A Members of Berks Society 12 met recently at the home of Pauline Hardranft. The group made a Christmas hanging with Society 18 Lancaster Society 24 Lancaster and 14 at Harrisburg. Mary Mellinger and Lois Erb will be the society’s delegates. The next meeting will be held Jan. 28 at the home of Mrs. Mehren Mast, Morgantown. At that meeting, members will reveal their secret sisters. The next meeting will be on Jan. 18 at Grace United Church of Christ, New Holland Pike. Rev. and Mrs. Hoke were guests at the party and Mrs. Hoke told how they celebrated Christmas while doing missionary work in India. Members and their families and friends enjoyed a meal of ham and chicken, and a Christmas slide presentation set to music by Lucille Dundore entitled, “Tis the Season.” Santa delivered gifts to the children and secret pal gifts to members. Nan Feeg, Alberta Keener, Kathryn Neff, Betty Wessner and Mrs. Santa Claus, portrayed by Carolyn Feeg, delivered the 35 gifts purchased by Group 5 members to the residents at In dependence Terrace in Womelsdorf on Dec. 4. The next meeting will be held at the home of MrsXeleste Manbeck, El Womelsdorf,'bn Tuesday, Jan. 14 at 7:30 p.m. The program for the evening will be “Safety,” presented by the Pennsylvania State Police from Hamburg. Lebanon Society 20 ' Lebanon Society 20 held its Dec. 9 meeting at the home of Vera Fahnestock, R 1 Jonestown. Outgoing president Marion Maulfair announced that members still have time to sign up to attend the State Convention in Harrisburg during Farm Show week. She also told the group that the Extension office is looking for new ideas for presentations. The Spring Rally will be held in May at the York Fairgrounds. Julie Zimmerman and Pattie Maulfair will audit the treasurer’s book. At the completion of the business meeting, Marion Maulfair handed out a gift of tulip bulbs to each member and the group gave her a basket of dairy products. Incoming president Vera Fahnestock had the program committee distribute the 1986 program books. Gifts were exchanged and new secret pal names were exchanged.
