TOBACCO \ JSflYOOir ATTENTION TOBACCOFARMERS OFFERING A FAIRER AND MORE COMPETITIVE WAY TO MARKET YOUR TOBACCO We expect the Type 609 buyers to start working on you fairly hard by December 2,1985. They say they want their tobacco earlier than the auction will open. They don't think we will handle enough tobacco per day to fill their demand for December. WE HAVE A FEW SURPRISES FOR THEM! PREPARATION: Lots will consist of 11 Tennessee Style Bales and 15 Pa. Style Bales. <5O-70 lbs.) It is very important and will eliminate many problems if you keep your lots very consistant. One bale will be exposed on each lot for buyer inspection. That bate MUST represent all the bales on that lot! Keep pole burned tobacco in a separate lot. Keep the green out of your tobacco. DO NOT strip your tobacco too damp. When storing tobacco on the farm, stack your bales so that all sides of the bale are exposed to the air. PLEASE BRING YOUR NICEST TOBACCO TO THE FIRST AUCTION AS THIS WILL STIMULATE AND MAINTAIN BUYER INTEREST IN YOUR CROP. It is still important that you get your name and other information to us for scheduling. Do not wait til the last minute. We have scheduled an open house lor you to inspect the facilities, see how tobacco will be prepared for auction and educate you on how to strip and grade your tobacco. OPEN HOUSE WILL BE ON MONDAY, DECEMBER 9, 1985 FROM 1:00 P.M. TO 9:00 P.M.
