Slaughter steer and heifer prices
advanced sharply this week,
registering gains of 3.00-3.50. Gains
in dressed beef realizations
provided the main impetus in the
upturn, along with a strong buyer
demand. Overall finish proved
good to excellent; while problem
cattle, ie “overfat and/or over
weight” kinds only minimally
represented in the receipts.
Slaughter Cows 2.00-2.50 higher.
Bulls steady.
Estimated 5 day receipts 7500;
actuals last week 6000 and last
