Market Comment; Movement of
ready to cook whole birds was
good, and the demand was keeping
the supply well cleared at most
points. Inquiry for breast meat
was again active, and prices
continued to work higher. Wings
were slow while other items moved
to an irregular call. Live supplies
were adequate to barely adequate.
Weights were again irregular in a
full range of light to heavier than
desired. Slaughter schedules were
moderately heavy in total. The
undertone was firm.
Today’s L.T.L. asking prices
were 2-3 cents higher and firm on
U S. Grade A at 48-55 cents.

Market Comment: Prices un
changed. Cartoned egg orders
ranged light to occasionally good
where demand was stimulated by
scattered retail ad activity mainly
of large and extra large were at
least adequate or available.
Mediums were unevenly
distributed and in close balance
overall. Ungraded supplies were
adequate to instances available
and held with mixed but generally
increasing confidence. Jumbos
were adequate while smalls were
irregularly available.
