through the third quarter of 1985,
according to an operating report
issued today.

Banks’ participation in a national
financial assistance plan for other
troubled Farm Credit Banks
reduced third quarter net earnings
by about one-half.
“But, we are still financially
sound enough to provide assistance
to other Banks while showing
higher total net earnings over last
year and at the same time we
reduced our Federal Land Bank
farm loan interest rate by *2% on
August 1.”
