Fulton Grange honors longterm members Fulton Grange 66 observed Community Night Sept 23. Nine members were recognized for their long membership. Receiving a Sliver Star certificate from the National Grange, a 25-year pin from Fulton Grange, and a letter of congratulation from the Master of the Pa. State Grange was' Elizabeth Long. Also receiving 25- year awards, in absentia, were Geraldine and William Arrowsmith. Martin H. Eshleman received a 55-year seal; Lewis Good and Charles McSparran, 60-year seals, Fulton Grange 66 for 70 years of membership. A veteran of 42 years with the State House of Representatives, Wood is best known for the Susquehanna River bridge that bears his name. He is pictured above with his wife Esther. Reports from the Fulton Grange booth at the Solanco Fair were given. Lewis Good announced that Penn State University named a mezzanine section of the new Ag Arena for the Pa. State Grange since they were the largest contributor to it. New offices will be installed Oct. 14. Oct. 28 will be a Halloween party that will be open to the public. Everyone is asked to come in costume. Prizes will be given. Region H talent night contest will be held at Kutztown on Oct. 12 at 7:30 p.m. The youth committee will conduct a knowledge bowl with Lancaster and Berks Co. par ticipating Fulton Grange Dinner Theater at Oakryn is set for Nov 16.- Peny County Orange honored for community service HARRISBURG - Perry Vallej Grange, Perry County, placed first in the state level of the Grange’s Community Service Contest for the third straight year The Millerstown area chapter has earned three state honors and placed first nationally the past two years. The contest, sponsored by the National Grange for local grange chapters across the nation, honors local granges for their work to enhance their local communities. Community service is a primary goal of the Grange, a rural-farm organization representing 42,000 Pennsylvania citizens.
