LANCASTER - Prices were
relatively strong at the annual
Pennsylvania State Jersey Sale
held at the Guernsey Sale Pavilion.
Thirty hesd of bred heifers and
cows averaged $1059.16.
Topping the sale were a pair of
cows which sold for $l7OO each.
Lisa Rankin, right, and Janet Bissett, beside her, are the
proud new owners of this Jersey cow they bought for $1,700.
With them is sale chairman Craig Rhein.

Strong prices prevail at State Jersey Sale
Waverly Farm of Clearbrook,
Virginia consigned a two-year old
Favorite Saint daughter which sold
to two 4-H’ers, Janet Bissett and
Lisa Rankin of Washington
County. W.F. Saint Madonna was
fresh and milking nearly 50
pounds. She has a full sister scored
VG-87 with a projected record of
