AlB-Lancaster Farming, Saturday, September 7,1985 STATE COLLEGE - With 189 entries in this year’s Hay and Hay Crop Silage Show at Ag Progress Days, show chairman Sid Bosworth was well pleased with the turnout. The 1985 contest featured a change in format, with champions named iij each of three hay categories. In previous years only a single grand champion had been named. In the hay crop silage event, however, both a grand and reserve champion were recognized. “The competition was tough, and we had some very good samples,” noted Bosworth, adding that the number of entries nearly doubled over last year’s field. Bosworth encouraged interested farmers to contact their county extension office a few weeks prior to next year’s show for contest details. Following are show results: Surface drive Reliable Feeding Hard-packed and frozen silage makes feeding more than a routine chore. Patz gives you two solutions to the problem the RD-820 ring-drive silo unloader and the 988 surface-drive silo unloader. Both have a double hook gathering chain with hardened steel cutters and claws that cut through frozen and packed silage. • Spring-tensioned powered cutter keeps silo walls free of buildup. • Preset depth-of-cut control makes feeding truly automatic (98B). • Powerful blowers with adjustable impeller blades do the job. We'll show you how to get the most performance for your money. JJ|L y automatic farm systems WllTlß Evergreen Rd., Lebanon.
