WASHINGTON - Deputy
Secretary of Agriculture John R.
Norton announced today that the
government of Egypt has issued a
tender calling for offers from U.S.
exporters for 150,000 metric tons of
U.S.-produced wheat flour. The
tender was made under the export
-enhancement program announced
by USDA on July 29.
Norton said this is the first U.S -
origin wheat flour tender by a
target country under the Export
Enhancement Program, which
offers government-owned com
modities as bonuses to U.S. ex
porters to expand sales of U.S.
agricultural products to specified
countries to counter unfair trade
