LEBANON Lebanon County’s 4-H Livestock Judging Team members recently posted many victories in a statewide junior livestock judging contest held at the Lebanon Area Fairgrounds. These winnings included high team in beef judging and high individual in beef. The judging contest, sponsored by the Pennsylvania Yorkshire and Duroc Swine Associations and organized by Lebanon County agricultural Extension agent, Ken Wmebark, boasted nearly 100 4-H and FFA contestants from twelve counties. Roxanne Kirst, Fredericksburg; placed first in the beef division with a perfect score. Team mates Shelby Heagy, Lebanon; and Mike Kleinfelter, Myerstown; placed 7th and 9th, respectively; in overall beef judging. Lebanon County’s team was also named number one in beef. This team consisted of Jeff Bomgard ner, Annville; Shelby Heagy, Lebanon; Jason Krall, Lebanon; and Brian Kreider, Lebanon. In swine judging the same team placed third overall. Two of Lebanon’s livestock judgers ranked in the top 10 in dividuals in sheep judging. These individuals were Roxanne Kirst, Fredericksburg; and Brian Meyer, Annville; placing third and seventh overall. In the overall contest com petition (beef, sheep and swine) two Lebanon Countians rose to the top ten rank.
