Trading slow on slaughter steers
and heifers during the week.
Prices were lower both Monday
and Wednesday, although there
were not enough cattle for a good
market test on Wednesday.
Slaughter steers 2.50 to 3.00 lower.
Except Holsteins generally 1.00 to
2.00 lower. Slaughter heifers 2.00 to
2.50 lower. Cows 2.00 lower. Bulls
1.00 lower. Cow supply only about
4% this week.
SLAUGHTER STEERS: Choice
2-4 1000-1300 lbs. mostly 49.00-50.00
on Monday, few 50.50; some late
Monday and on Wednesday 47.00-
48.00. Mixed good and choice 2-3
1000-1200 lbs. 46.50-49.00, mostly
46.5047.50 late. Good 2-3 900-1100
lbs. 45.50-48.00. Mixed good and
