BIG-Lancastw Farming, Saturday, July 20,1985 Ida’s Notebook Ida Bisser Despite the many activities that keep me busy during the summer months, I always take time to mark the photos that I take or that are given to me. I’ve been quite frustrated with old family albums full of professional photos and none of them marked. How does one know if the primly posed couple are great Uncle Emery and great Aunt Mary or maybe great Uncle Milton and great Aunt Alma. At least I did take the time a few years ago to get the two oldest living relatives to go over the books with me. We marked all of the names on the ones that they recognized. Shortly afterward the one relative lost her sight and the other one died. So, I was glad that they had cleared up some of the questions about identity. My children love to take pictures and some of them own several cameras. They’ve even entered photography contests and won STABLES AND RIDING AREAS Tub) /' ROSE BUILDING SYSTEM: Zip Phone (Area Code] r^ din r lleaby " c - Ei ;° v r , ?: M ' 11 RED BOSE BUILDING SYSTEMS INC (Weatherstrong Aluminum Max Rib Steel) pQ Box 56 PA 17522 BSSI 9HHL honorable mentions. When my youngest daughter has her pic tures developed, she always gets two copies and gives me one set. I really appreciate this as often I’ll take my camera to a family event and then not use it. This is what happened at the wedding in Pittsburgh this spring. However, I was blessed with pictures from four of my children and so I have quite an assortment. In the winter when I’m not too busy is when I sort and file my pictures. The ones that were taken of our children when they were small have been put in envelopes according to years. Then, when they have children of a certain age, I can give them photos of them selves at the same age. It is in teresting to note similarities in appearance. I might not take time to run the sweeper, but J do take time to mark all of the pictures that pass through my hands. Kenneth Vansant, Jr. of White Hall, was recently crowned 1985-86 Baltimore-Harford County Dairy Princess. Crowning the new princess was Karen McMahon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Tracey, Freeland. Miss McMahon was the retiring princess. The ceremony took place at a reception at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne L. Armacost, Up perco. Present for the occasion were her parents, both her paternal and maternal grand parents and a host of friends and neighbors. Miss Vansant, a senior at Hereford Junior-Senior High School, Parkton this fall, plans to continue her education in a liberal arts course at Towson State University after graduation and to major in mathematics and ac counting. Being the area dairy princess seems a natural for this bubbly, 17- year-old who is spending the summer showing her registered Holstein animals in 4-H com petition and working on a neigh bor’s dairy farm milking cows.
