one teaching
in Vermont, ne worked with dairy
and sheep producers, and with
part-time farmers like himself.
“Ours was a 60-acre hill farm. In
addition to the orchard and gar
den, we had steers, poultry, 85
ewes, and even some purebred
Yorkshire hogs for a while,” said
Kruesi.
Kruesi’s job is about half
managing the Circleville Farm,
half teaching. “It’s the kind of
teaching I like: one-one-one, ex
tension-style work,” said Kruesi.
This coming fall Kruesi will also do
some classroom teaching for a
course in farm skills. “Each week
we’ll sit down and decide what
needs doing at the farm, then we’ll
go doit.”
