both classes 2.00-3.00 down from
last week’s closing levels.
Depressed prices at wholesale beef
level the dominant factor for the
sharp decline, thus buyers were
very dliberate and selective with
continued discounts on overweight
and/or overfinished cattle.
Breaking utility and commercial
slaughter cows 5.00-7.00 lower;
canner, cutter and boning utility
2.00-5.00 lower. Slaughter bulls 2.00
lower.
Estimated 5 day receipts this
week 9300, actual receipts last
week, 9661, actual receipts last
year 8395. Steers comprised 56 pet
of week’s receipts, heifers 31 pet,
cows 8 pet, feeders 3 pet.
