Dauphin Co. to select deny princess
HARRISBURG - To cap off
another June Dairy Month in the
Capitol City, two Middletown girls
will compete for the Dauphin
County dairy princess crown and
banner on Friday evening, June 28
at 8 p.m.
The pageant will be held in room
218 of the Lower Paxton Township
Building and will be followed by an
ice cream social.
Contestant Teresa Hepner, 18, is
the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Joseph Hepner of 125 Beech wood
Drive, Middletown. Teresa is a
1985 graduate of Middletown High
School with career interests in the
dairy industry. She is the president
of the Lower Dauphin 4-H Dairy
Club and has two head of Jersey
cattle as projects. She is employed
as Bryncoed Jersey farm near
Middletown. She also coaches a
girl’s softball team and is a
member of Seven Sorrows Catholic
Church.
Patti Lytle is the 17-year-old
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul
Lytle, Jr. of 915 E. Harrisburg
Pike, Middletown. She will be a
senior at Lower Dauphin High
School where she is a active in the
ski club and the longitudinal
studies group. Patti also is a
member of the Lower Dauphin
Dairy Club with a Holstein calf as a
project. The Lytles milk 100 head
of Holstein cattle.
The public is invited to help the
Dauphin County Dairy Princess
April Lafferty welcome the new
dairy princess. The winner and her
alternate will represent the
Dauphin County dairy industry in
promoting the many delicious
dairy products available to the
consumer.

HUNTINGDON - Tina Shultz of
James Creek was recently
crowned 1985 Huntingdon County
dairy princess during the annual
pageant at Shaver’s Creek
Fireman’s Park.
Wanda Love, Shirleysburg, and
Lisa McMahon, Petersburg, were
named equal alternates.
Tina, the daughter of William
and Ruby Shultz, received her
crown from last year’s princess
Mary Ann Keith. Tina will be a
senior this fall at Huntingdon Area
High School. After graduation, she
plans to attend college to major in
agriculture.
Tina is president of the 4-H Dairy
Club, secretary of the 4-H County
Council, a member of the 4-H
Lamb and Swine Clubs and of the
United Church of Christ youth
group and choir.
Alternate princess Wanda Love
is the daughter of Garry and
Darlene Love. She is a graduate of
Mount Union Area High School and
was a member of the band, county
band and her church youth group.
Alternate princess Lisa Mc-
Mahon is the daughter of Hilda
McMahon. She is a graduate of
Juniata Valley High School and
plans to attend Williamsport
Community College to major in
communications.

cheerleading, yearbook, PFA
youth representative, chorus,
senior class secretary and the
church worship team.
1984 dairy princess Mary Ann
Keith spoke of her year’s ac
tivities. In two weeks, Mary Ann
will go to Thailand as an exchange
student.
