SOUTHAMPTON - Seventeen Young Cooperators representing Inter-State Milk Producers’ Cooperative will participate in the 15th annual Pennmarva Young Cooperator Program, June 19 to 21 in Arlington, Va. During the program, one of the 17 will be named the 1985 Out standing Young Cooperator, ac cording to Member Relations Manager James Barnett. The winner will be further recognized and presented a plaque at Inter- State’s annual meeting in November. The YC program is designed to educate young dairy farmer members about cooperatives and to further expose them to the workings of the dairy industry, Barnett said. The program recognizes and develops leader ship among the YCs, all between the ages of 21 and 35. Sponsored by the Pennmarva Dairymen’s Federation, the YC contest is a culmination of a year’s activities for the dairy couples and singles. Each contestant has had the opportunity to attend Board meetings, the annual delegate meeting and educational seminars. Three other Federation mem- URBANA, IL - Robert H. Foote, an animal scientist from Cornell University, received the 1985 “Upjohn Physiology Award” from the American Dairy Science Association, which held its annual meeting at the University of Illinois. Foote was recognized for his research accomplishments in animal physiology, particularly those published during the past five years. The Jacob Gould Schurman Professor of Animal Physiology, Foote is a faculty member in the New York State College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Cornell. He recently was named the “Distinguished Andrologist for 1985” by the American Society of Andrology for his research con tributions in animal physiology.
