Eight to compete for Lancaster dairy princess title

LANCASTER - Eight Lan
caster County young women will
participate in the 1985 Lancaster
County Dairy Princess to be held
June 15 at the Farm and Home
Center.
The evening will begin with a
reception at 7 p.m. on the patio,
followed by the pageant at 7:30
p.m. Following the contest, there
will be a free ice cream social.
Contestants are;
Jodi Lynn Bixler, 17, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Jay L. Bixler,
Marietta. A graduate of Donegal
High School, Jodi is active in the
school chorus, band and the Future
Business Leaders of America. She
is a 4-H’er with a variety of
projects, including being a teen
leader. She is active in the
Glossbrenner United Methodist
Church, and will attend the Penn
State York Campus. The Bixlers
have about 70 Holsteins.
Elizabeth J. Brinton, 16, is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Victor
Brinton, Peach Bottom. A senior at
Solanco High School, Betsy is
active m cheerleading, track,
Student Senate, Varsity Club, glee
club and mixed chorus. She is a 4-
H’er and is in the Girl Scouts and
the Explorers as well as her
church youth group. The Brintons
have 110 Holsteins.
Jeannie Ginder, 17, is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert
E. Ginder, Elizabethtown. A
student at Manheim Central High
School, Jeannie was a member of
the Future Farmers of America,
and was active in 4-H dairy club for
about seven years. She attends the
Chiques Church of the Brethren,
and was a member of the Lan
caster Red Rose Beef Club. Her
parents have about 45 Holsteins.
Cynthia Lynn Gordon, 17, is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George
A. Gordon, Jr., Peach Bottom. A
student at Solanco High School, she
is active in the Future Farmers of
America, and in 4-H, having taken
both sewing and dairy. She owns
three Ayrshires.
Julie Long, 17, is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. James Long, Peach
Bottom. A student at Solanco High
School, Julie is in the Spanish Club

and is active in her church youth
group. Her parents milk 100
Holsteins.
Janae Marie Martin, 19, is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Martin, New Holland. A graduate
of Lancaster Mennonite High
School, Janae was on the field
hockey team and the basketball
team and is active in her church
youth group. She was a member of
the New Holland 4-H Baby Beef
Club. She hopes to attend the
Pennsylvania School of the Arts.
Her parents have 48 Holsteins.
Delinda Tindall, 16, is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Tindall, Peach Bottom. A senior at
Solanco High School, Delinda was
in three school musicals, and
played the piano for several
concerts. She plays for the church
youth choir, and has shown swine
at the Solanco Fair. Her parents
have 50 milking Holsteins.
Lucinda C. Trimble, 17, is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald
Trimble, Peach Bottom. A student
at Solanco High School, Lucinda is
active in the 4-H sewing and dairy
clubs and in the youth group at
Mechanic Grove Church of the
Brethren. She is a member of the
Pennsylvania Brown Swiss
Association and is active in the
Health Occupational Students of
America. She owns two Brown
Swiss cows, and hopes to go to
Willow Street Vo-Tech’s dental

Free tickets are necessary, one
per family, for admission and for a
chance on the door prize which is a
family pass for four to Dutch
Wonderland. Advance tickets may
be obtained from Linda Kreider,
Lancaster Pike, Quarryville,
17566. Please include a self
addressed, stamped envelope.
Tickets are also available from
milk haulers, some AI technicians
and some feed salesmen.
The winner of the contest will
represent Lancaster County’s
dairymen throughout the year and
participate in the 1985 Penn
sylvania Dairy Princess contest.
