Farmers should make sure that they don’t lose program benefits because of failure to comply with acreage requirements, officials said. To be eligible for price support loans, target prices and other program benefits, farm program participants are required to report actual planted acreages. Before crop planting time, ASCS will stake and measure any type of acreage, or portions thereof, that a farmer requests. To be assured that program requirements are met, producers must plant within the stakes that are placed when the land is pre-measured. After planting, they are required to report their crop acreages to ASCS. Pre-measurement is important in helping farmers decide which land to devote to the acreage conservation reserve and which fields to plant. The service costs of $l2 plus hourly rate of $.15 includes measuring, referencing and marking fields with stakes prior to planting. Acres pre-measured by ASCS are guaranteed for the program year. Other producer services include measuring total cropland, field or subdivisions to be planted and land areas for other purposes. Fees vary, depending on the type of service rendered. 35.00 per head; 1-3 35-50 lbs. 31.00 46.00. SHEEP: 1091. Compared with 1007 head last week, and 1611 head a year ago. Spring si. lambs uneven.
