This annual event seems to be growing in popularity with both buyers and consignors. This year’s sale offering was one of the event’s largest, and included consigments from Maryland, Pennsylvania, Topping the Maryland Jersey Sale was this four-year-old consigned by Thomas Eliason of Delaware. Selling fresh, she carried records of 11,420 of milk with 4.7% test in 305 days. This daughter of Gramhil Leader Sophia Samson sold for $1025 to Jack Kahler of Keymar, Md. Dorcas Bonafield of Centreville, Md., purchased this two-year-old to add to her small Jersey herd. Dorcas’ herd presently consists of 15 milking animals. She has pur chased one of the highest selling animals at the Maryland sale for the past three or four years. With the purchase of Henry Hill Samson Daydream, consigned by Helen McCahon, Dorcas says she has completed her milking string. In addition to these two Jerseys, three other consigments brought over $BOO. Another two-year-old daughter due on May 6, to the service of Favorite Saint brought $825.
