Weed Control
(Continued from Page Al 2)
good idea to measure each item m
a bucket or other suitable con
tainer and arrange buckets in the
order m which materials are to be
added to the tank. This will make it
clear if everything has been added
to each tank mixture.
If unsure about compatibility,
always use the quart jar method,
mixing chemicals in the same
order as for a full-scale tank mix,
using a pint of liquid carrier, one
quarter teaspoon compatibility
agent and about one level teaspoon
of each pesticide. Mix gently and
allow to stand. If the mixture is
free of lumps, flakes or sludge it
should be O.K.
Play it safe. Have a drum or at
least a 5-gallon can of clean water,
a bar of strong soap and a supply of
towels on hand at all times to wash
off any spills or splashes, Belt
cautions. Be sure to wear rubber
gloves and protective equipment.
Don’t take chances!
