In 1984, Barnard conducted a

for the children in schools.” “They
just know if they like it or don’t like
it,” he said. Out of 673 samples
tested for flavor, 28.9% tested
poor, and of the poor samples, 68%

According to Barnard, rancidity
starts on the farms. Dairymen
should watch their handling and
cooling procedures. “We don’t
need any milk out there that
doesn’t taste good,” he concluded. ,
Donald Duncan, El, Robesonia,
representing the Pennsylvania
Dairy Promotion Advisory Baord,
brought farmers up to date on
current legislation, advertising
expenditures, and plans.
He introduced the new logos for
Pennsylvania dairy promotions
“Make It Milk” and “Penn

“We want to get it (the logo)
known for a quality product,” he
stated.
He also reminded dairymen that
March 15th is the deadline for
applications from organizations
requesting funds. “We’re going to
try to do more,” he stated. The
board will not fund capital in
vestments, radio ads, dairy
princess pageants, or travel ex

groups come up with some new and
different ideas,” he added.
The Board is currently financing
