After 36 years as a poultry and egg marketing specialist, Birth plans to stay active and continue to write ar ticles for the industry. “My most frustrating experience during retirement will be what not to do,” Birth says. During his career, Birth has developed and conducted numerous educational programs for poultry producers, wholesalers, retailers and con sumers. He has studied the marketing of eggs and poultry products with an emphasis on improving quality, such as reducing shell damage. Birth has been instrumental in developing a classification system for iden tifying causes of egg shell damage. He has also assisted in developing a computerized broiler Bedford Co.
