annual Christinas party on Dec. 5
at Hostetler’s Dining Hall.

home of Cathy Smith. Roll call was
answered by telling a favorite
childhood memory of Christmas.
The group decided to donate
money from a sale to the food bank
and the Ashley family.

appointed president and Margaret
Heisey will serve as vice president.
The next meeting will be held at
the home of Grace Bixler on Feb.
16 at 2 p.m. The program will be
convention reports and members
will bring two dozen cookies with
recipes to sample and exchange.
Society 26
members will be going to the
banquet.
The January meeting will be
held at the Newberrytown Plaza.
Society 34

New officers were welcomed and
the group enjoyed a gift exchange
and refreshments.
The next meeting will be Jan. 21
at the home of Joyce Holloway.

Berks Society 1
Berks Society 1 met recently at
the Washington Inn, Bechtelsville,
for their Christmas party.
Instrumental entertainment was
supplied by two ladies from the
Horizon Center, Reading, and
secret pals were revealed The
group exchanged gifts.
No formal meeting was held. The
next meeting will be at the home of
Mrs. Grace Schaefer, Oley on Jan
9 at 8 p m.
Berks Society 4
Berks Society 4 held their annual
Christmas party at the Ben
Franklin Inn in Douglassville.
Mrs. Loeb installed the new
officers. They are; Verna Taylor,
president; Evelyn Becker, vice
president; Mary Fizz, secretary;
and Edna Angstadt, treasurer.
Christmas cookie baskets were
made for area shut-ins at the home
of Verna Taylor on Dec. 18.
Plans were made for those at
tending the state convention in
Harrisburg on Jan. 4 and 15.
Gifts were exchanged and secret
pals were revealed.
The January meeting will be
held at the home of Mrs. Edna
Angstadt, Earlville.
Berks Society 12
Berks Society 12 held a Christ
mas party at Christ’s Little
Tulpehocken Church with 10
families attenc’ng.
The group made plans for the
coming year. Final plans to attend
the state convention to be held in
Harrisburg on Jan. 14 and 15 were
made.

annual family Christinas banquet
at Heisey’s Diner. There were 52
members and guests present.

tgomery County youth recently
completed a 4-H junior jazzercise
program, sponsored cooperatively
by the Montgomery County 4-H
program and jazzercise. Wendy
and Kelly Barns, Lon Hagenbach,
Andy Young and Charles Clelland,
all of Lansdale, and Renee
Bomgardner of Worcester
received 4-H ribbons and
achievement certificates for their
efforts.
Taught by volunteer leader and
certified Jazzercise instructor,
Hennetta Gomez of Worcester,
junior jazzercise is a total fitness
program that employs simple jazz

members to attend the state
convention in Harrisburg on Jan.

This special program for boys
and girls encourages emotional,
mental and physical growth in a
non-competitive atmosphere.
At their last meeting, members
performed for their parents, after
eight weeks of practice. Ms.
Gomez was extremely pleased
with the group, noting that their
progress from the first session was
tremendous.
Junior Jazzercise will be offered
again in the Lansdale area
sometime in January. For more
