D2O-Umcaster Farming Saturday December 22,1984 for farm market development CHICAGO - Six farm com modity organizations now have $249,887 more to spend to build markets for corn, wheat, beef, pork, cotton and real dairy foods. The monies were raised through Velsicol’s Operation Trade Ex pansion, a program underwritten by Velsicol Chemical Corporation, Chicago. In addition to announcing the large contribution, Velsicol has also disclosed plans to continue the program in 1985. Initiated in the fall of 1983, Velsicol’s Operation Trade Ex pansion contributes funds to farmer-supported commodity organizations for use on specific market expansion projects. For every gallon of Velsicol herbicide sold and reported in the 1984 season, Velsicol donated 50 cents to the American Dairy Association, Cotton Incorporated, National Association of Wheat Growers, National Corn Growers Association, National Cattlemen’s Association and the National Pork Producers Council. Farmers and ranchers filled out “ballots” at their ag chemical dealerships to determine which organizations would receive the funds. The contributions, as deter mined by the farmer and rancher ballots cast m 1983-84, will be distributed as follows: American Dairy Association, $15,501; Cotton Incorporated, $10,136; National Association of Wheat Growers, $73,743; National Corn Growers Association, $97,758; National Cattlemen’s Association, $32,210; and the National Pork Producers Council, $20,539. “Because of the good response by farmers to the program the first year, we were able to donate a total of $249,887 to the six com modity groups in 1984,” said Dale Miller, Director of Marketing and Sales for Velsicol Chemical Cor poration. “We hope to greatly exceed that figure in year two of the program. Velsicol is com mitted to helping expand both foreign and domestic sales of U.S. farm commodities,” he said. NOLL GRAIN Velsicol raises funds markets for the nation’s ag production. Groups participating in the 1985 program will include: American Soybean Association, Cotton In corporated, National Association of Wheat Growers, National Cattlemen’s Association, National Corn Growers Association, and the National Pork Producers Council. All Velsicol herbicides (Banvel, Banvel 11, Weedmaster, MonDak and Carbyne) are included in the program. Participation in Operation Trade Expansion does not constitute a product en dorsement by the commodity organizations, Miller emphasized. Farmers will find ballots to make their commodity group selection at ag chemical suppliers where herbicides are purchased. 1985 ballots are also being mailed to all farmers who cast a ballot in 1984. A new commodity group in the program for 1985, the American Soybean Association, plans to direct funds they receive from Velsicol into developing a soybean food product which meets the dietary and taste requirements of the people of India. The goal is to increase demand for U.S. soybeans and soy products. Cotton Incorporated received $10,136 from the 1984 program and will use funds from year one and two of Operation Trade Expansion to help underwrite the cost of their successful “True Performance” promotion, which encourages manufacturers of apparel and home furnishings to use special labels which allow easy consumer identification of the particular benefits of cotton products. The National Association of Wheat Growers (NAWG), through its Foundation, will invest year one and two Operation Trade Ex pansion monies in three projects. NAWG received $73,743 in 1984 and will sponsor trainees from the People’s Republic of China to attend the American Institute of Baking. Once trained in the U.S., the representatives will train others when they return to China. The Wheat Growers Foundation will also make bakery equipment available to training schools in (Turn to Page D 22) Contractor Loader-Dozer ★ TUBELESS ★ 16 9x24 8 ply - 16 9x24 10 ply - 17 5Lx24 6 ply - 17 5x24 8 ply - 15 5x25 12 ply -17 5x25 12 ply - ★ TUBE TYPE ★ 14 9x24 6 ply- $200.00 14 9x248p1y- $220.00 16 9x24 6 ply- $220.00 16 9x24 8 ply- $235.00 16 9x24 10 ply - $280.00 17 5Lx24 8 ply - $240.00 16 9x2BBply- $260.00 18 4x28 10 ply - $340.00 20 5x25 12 ply - Call For 23 5x25 16 ply - Quote 1300x24 10 ply- $225.00 1300x24 12 ply- $245.00 1400x24 10 ply - $255.00 1400x24 12 ply- $280.00 8 3x24 $95.00 9 5x24 112.00 14 9x24 6 ply 195.00 16 9x24 6 ply 210.00 18 4x16 16 ply 245.00 18 4x26 6 ply 340.00 11 2x28 4 ply 152.00 13 6x286 ply 225 00 111x15 8 ply $BO 00 111x16 8 ply $92 00 111x16 lOply $9BOO 750800x16 10 ply 111x16 12 ply $l3O 00 145 75 16 1 10 ply $225 00 $265.00 $330.00 $240.00 $270.00 $320.00 $445.00 Used Grass Tires in Our Stock Hog feeder announced B & W Manufacturing Company of Columbus, Neb., has announced the addition of a 60 bu. capacity indoor Hog Feeder to their line of Rocking Hog Feeders.
