Delmarva Poultry
Thursday, December 13
Report supplied by USDA
Market Comment: Movement on
ready to cook whole birds was
lighter and generally no better
than fair. Clearances of current
production was more difficult
today and most plants carried
some product. Breasts and cutlets
were moving satisfactorily, while
other items were on a struggle,
particularly legs.
Slaughter was moderate, heavy
overall. Live supplies were at least
adequate overall. Weights im
proved but still in a wide range.
Undertone was steady at best.
Today’s L.T.L. asking prices are
unchanged on U.S. Grade A at .49-
.55 cents.
Estimated slaughter of broiler
fryers in Delmarva (000).

Report supplied by USDA
Market Comment: Prices were
unchanged. Cartoned egg
movement was fair to good, but
overall dealers were disappointed
with the volumne of current or
ders. Jumbos were well cleared
and tight in most quarters. Extra
large were adequate to ample with
additional product available.
Between floor stocks and seller
offerings large were ample.
Graded loose large were noted as
burdensome in some quarters;
class 2’s were readily available
and difficult to move while class
I’s were available but generally
movable. Graded loose mediums
and class 3’s were in relatively
good balance. Smalls and class 4’s
were tight and the total buying
interest was not completely filled.
Undertone was steady.
