The first Deutz tractor, with a 26-hp Otto gasoline engine, was developed in 1894 by the
American subsidiary of Klockner-Humboldt-Deutz at Philadelphia. By 1936, the Deutz
factory in Cologne, Germany, was turning out the world’s first “mass-produced” small
tractor, the 11-hp “old-timer” shown here. Today, Deutz-Fahr tractors marketed in
North America include the new DX series (84-145 pto hp; the DX4.70 shown here is rated
at 84 pto hp) and the 07 and 07C series (43-73 pto hp).
