The Association finished the year with an annual production of 15,013 pounds of milk and 553 pounds of butterfat per cow-an all-time high. There were an average of 5257 cows on test for the fuU year, which was highest number on test in the history of Wayne County D.H.I.A. Kevin Burleigh, Pleasant Mount, had the highest DHIA production with 20,960 pounds of milk and 773 pounds of butterfat per cow. Other herds exceeding the 700 pound fat level were: James Slocum, Susquehanna; Kinghill Farm, (David Soden), Stamicca; Robert Fries, Aldenville; Paul Kennedy, Honesdale; Glover Brothers, Stamica; and Rowe Brothers, Honesdale. The highest butterfat lactation record completed during the year was accomplished by “Liza”, a cow owned by James Wood mansee, Lake Como. Her complete record in 295 days was 20,121 pounds of milk and 1027 pounds of butterfat.
