PLAIN CITY, Oh. - Select Sires
has acquired three outstanding
young Holstein bulls from Penn
sylvania. Based on their pedigrees,
Brooks-Twain Jade Prince, Yules-
Pride Clever, and Ja-Jo Mel-ET
have been chosen as three of 130
Holstein bulls from throughout the
United States to enter Select Sires’
Program for Genetic Ad
vancement (PGA) young sire
sampling system in 1984.
Brooks-twain Jade Prince
comes from breeder Walter
Brooks, of. Springville. The dam of
this new PGA sire is Brooks-Twain
Job Pammy. She is a “Very Good”
(88) Hillhaven Standout Job
daughter with an elite 1984 Cow
Index of +1.125M +6IF +|l76. In
her first lactation she made over
23,300 M and 760 F. Her best record
is 25,SUM 1.231 F 4.7 percent in 358
days. The grandam is “Very
Good” (87) with records over
36,D00M and 1.400 F. The third dam

NEW HOLLAND - Two new
tedders from Sperry New Holland
are designed to help haymakers
reduce weather risk by speeding
up curing in favorable intervals
between showers.
Both machines use four vertical
axis rotors to spread and fluff
