Report supplied by USDA
Market Comment: Movement on
ready to cook whole birds was fair.
Some plants have cleared current
production while others leave
some product that they will carry
into Friday. Parts movement was
fair on breasts and cutlets, fairly
good on legs and leg quarters and
good on wings. The slaughter was
moderate today, and only a couple
of plants are scheduled to be down
Friday. Live supplies were at least
adequate. Weights improved but
still heavier than desired at most
plants. Undertone was steady.
Today’s L.T.L. asking prices are
unchanged on U.S. Grade A at .49-
.55 cents.

Wednesday, November 21
Report supplied by USDA
Market Comment: Prices were
unchanged. Cartoned egg
movement was fairly good to good
and generally in line with holiday
projections. Extra large were in
balance while jumbos continue
short of full needs in most quar
ters. Large were adequate and
several dealers had supplemented
receipts this week with some
outside purchasing; however,
class I’s, particularly graded loose
were available and not that dif
ficult to obtain. Mediums,, class 2’s
and 3’s were adequate to fully
adequate, and the demand was
only fair for additional stocks. Nest
runs were being offered a little
more frequently for shipment next
week. Undertone was cautiously
steady.
