Delmarva Poultry Thursday, November IS Report supplied by USDA Market Comment; Movement on ready to cook whole birds was slow, and it was difficult to clear current production. Carry-over of whole birds was common today. Demand for parts was light to fair with breasts the most difficult item to clear. The slaughter remains very light as an occasional plant was not operating today and several will be closed tomorrow. Live supplies were adequate and weights were in a wide range. Undertone weak and unsettled. Today’s L.T.L. asking prices are .02 lower on U.S. Grade A at .50-.56 Copyright 1984 by Lancaster Farming P.O. Bax 366-Witz, PA 17543 Office: 22 E. Philadelphia Eggs Thursday, November 15 Report supplied by USDA Market Comment: Prices un changed to higher. Cartoned egg movement was fairly good overall. Floor stocks of large were at least adequate for current needs in most quarters. A fairly active inquiry still existed for class l’s, but the availability was limited. On the other hand, graded loose were available for immediate delivery; Class 2’s were also being sought in some quarters but not as aggressively as class l’s. Some inquiry noted in mediums, but this interest was easily filled as graded loose or class 3’s by local producers. Extra large were in balance overall. Supplies were tight, and little or no excess production was showing up. Jumbos remain short of full trade requirement.
