1.50-2.00 higher, instances 2.50
higher on heifers when compared
to last midweek sales. Good buyer
demand, higher dressed beef and
boxed beef prices were dominant
factors for the upswing in live
prices. Slaughter cows firm to 1.00
higher, advance coming late in the
week following strengthening of
dressed cow beef market.
Slaughter bulls steady. -
Estimated 5 day receipts this
week 10,200, actual receipts last
week 8,062, last year 14,943. Steers
comprised 34 PCT of the week’s
receipts, heifers 31 PCT, cows 7
PCT, feeders 26 PCT.
